Carriers We Publish Guides About

Which insurance companies these guides cover, what publishing a guide does and does not mean, and who you are connected with when you call

This site has a page for each of a number of insurance companies whose policies people most often write in about. The pages are grouped by company because that is how people arrive here. Someone finds a statement with a company name on it, types that name into a search box, and wants to know what the letter means and who to speak to about it.

What each page covers is the service side of owning a policy, and it is much the same whichever company issued the contract. Beneficiary changes, billing and failed drafts, lapse and reinstatement, premium increases, finding a policy that belonged to a parent, cash value and policy loans, canceling or surrendering, and what to have ready before you call anyone. Nothing on those pages is a rate, a product recommendation or an offer.

Life Policy Desk is not an insurance company and not an insurance agency. We write and publish these guides. We do not sell insurance, we hold no insurance license, and we are not appointed with any insurance company. When you call, you are connected with a licensed independent insurance agent, and the agent is the one who can read your policy and advise you on it. The agent is not acting for us when they do that.

Publishing a guide about a company does not mean any relationship with it

This needs saying plainly, because a page carrying a company name can easily be read as an endorsement or an affiliation. It is neither.

A company named on this site has not sponsored, reviewed or approved anything here. It has no involvement in how these pages are written and no control over what they say. We are not an agent of any insurer, not appointed by any insurer, and not authorized to act for any insurer or to speak on its behalf. Company names are used only to identify whose policy a reader is asking about. Any trade names and trademarks belong to their owners.

What follows from that is practical rather than legal. We cannot look up your policy, change a beneficiary, take a payment, reinstate a lapsed contract or tell you what your file says. Only your insurance company can do those things, on its own forms. Where a guide tells you to request something in writing, that request goes to the company that issued the policy.

One more thing follows from having no affiliation. If your insurance company is not among the ones listed here, that is not a judgment about it and it does not mean nobody can help. The service questions are largely the same whichever company issued the contract, so the general guides on this site apply either way, and the call is answered on the same terms.

The licensed independent agents you may be connected with

When you call the number on this site, the call is answered by a licensed independent insurance agent. Independent means the agent holds appointments with several insurance companies rather than working for one of them, and is not an employee of Life Policy Desk. Which companies an agent is appointed with matters, because appointments set the boundary of what that agent is able to write.

A roster of the agents who answer, with their state license numbers and appointments, is being prepared for this page. Until it is here, ask the agent directly for a name and a license number on the call. Any state insurance department will confirm a license, and no reasonable agent objects to being checked.

To be completed. The licensed independent agents, their Georgia license numbers and the carriers each is appointed with will be listed here. Nothing is listed until the partners supply it.
